This month, we asked Carter Sells, Market Analyst, about what the HLC value “We Serve” means to her.
“In the Bible, Jesus tells us: Whoever will be great amongst the Disciples will be a servant, and whoever will be first among the disciples will be a servant to all. Those who are great amongst the Gentiles rule over their people, and exercise authority over them. To me We Serve is a reminder that we are striving to be great disciples. The son of God was perfect, yet he did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Because we are trying to be great disciples, personal followers of Jesus, I think We Serve means we strive to never put ourselves above others.”
