This month, we asked Mark De La Torre, Vice President – HLCI, about what the HLC value “We Put Others First – Golden Rule” means to him.
“To me, this HLC value summarizes and gives the reasoning behind our other values. This value is grounded in two scriptures. The first reference is Christ’s command, “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them.” – Matthew 7:12. The second reference is Christ’s example, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3. We put others first out of obedience to Christ.”
