What brought you to HLC?
The opportunity to run my own business; grow, build and develop a team of young people and help them grow in their real estate careers; work with Holden and John; and be part of a young, thriving culture that is well-respected in the market.

Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
We Put Others First – from the top down, this value is followed. Holt emulates the attitude of humility and has an “others first” mindset, and this was very evident when I was evaluating whether or not HLC would be a good fit for me.

What three words would you use to describe the HLC culture?
Hard-working, energetic, disciplined.

What inspires you?
The most important thing about me is my faith in Jesus Christ and God – this shapes and forms every decision that I make. My wife, Ellison, and my kids also inspire me.

How do you define success?
Success is based on living a life that has meaning and fulfillment. Wisdom and an ultimate peace are two things I most strive for in life.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Hunting, golfing and fishing. I also like to do a little carpentry work and build things around the house.

What are three interesting things about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
I love wakeboarding. I love snow skiing. I almost lost my foot in a freak burn accident.

Everyone has a good app idea. What’s yours?
An app called “Friendly Wager’ – you use it to make casual bets within your network of friends, whether you’re playing golf or a watching a football game. It’s a fun way to bet against each other and money conveniently changes hands through the app.

Favorite quote?
“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.” Proverbs 3:13. And anything by Winston Churchill.

What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?
My 6 and ½ year old black lab, Abe, would say, “I love it when my dad takes me to hunt.”

What super power would you like to have?
Being able to use The Force.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you and why?
A bible. A fishing pole with unlimited tackle. A guitar.

What’s your secret talent no one at work knows about?
I used to be a really good place kicker and punter in football.

If you could steal credit for any great piece of art, song, film, book etc., which one would you claim?
The Mumford & Sons “Babel” album.

Last meal?
A 6 oz. sirloin, medium-rare, snow crab legs, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.

Welcome to HLC Tyler, we are glad you are here!
