Meet Skyler Seidman, Market Analyst and new HLC team member!
Skyler Seidman joined Holt Lunsford Commercial (HLC) in 2021 and serves as a Market Analyst in the Houston Office Group. His responsibilities include gathering market intelligence, producing competitive market sets, producing weekly analysis reports, assisting brokers in lease negotiations and marketing HLC properties.
Prior to joining HLC full-time, Skyler completed an internship with HLC in the summer of 2020. During this time, he gained valuable experience by assisting in leasing activities, investments, asset management, and construction services.
Skyler graduated from Abilene Christian University where he received a BBA in Marketing and Management. While at Abilene Christian, Skyler was a tour guide in the university’s admissions office. He is a Texas Real Estate Commission License Holder.
Skyler was born in Pensacola, Florida. His family moved to Texas when he was two, and he and his two younger brothers grew up in Dallas.
What brought you to HLC?
During my junior year of college, I learned about the internship opportunities at HLC and heard great things about the company. It was a good fit for my career path, so I interviewed with Josh Barnes for the internship program. I did my internship during the summer of 2020 and really enjoyed it. I started connecting with others in the real estate industry in Texas, and when I graduated from ACU, I reached out to Holden Lunsford about opportunities at HLC. He connected me with Brandon in the Houston office, and it turned out to be a great fit for me.
How do you hope to grow at HLC?
I want to learn as much as possible. I want to meet as many people as I can, get connected, and learn how to be a great broker.
What three words would you use to describe the HLC culture?
Hard working, disciplined, exciting.
You are a new addition to the crayon box, what color are you and why?
Blue, because it represents my two favorite sports teams: The Dallas Cowboys and The Dallas Mavericks.
Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
We Put Others First – Golden Rule. You can have a tremendous impact on people that goes beyond business by serving others and putting them first.
How do you define success?
Success is doing a job well done and performing at a high level not only in my career, but in all aspects of life.
Who or what inspires you?
My dad. He’s hard working, wise, and pretty good at golf. He’s done a great job being there for our family and if I’m half the man he is, I think I’ll be alright.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Hanging out with my fiancé, Ale, and my dog, Jagger, a golden doodle. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and doing anything sports related like playing golf, pick-up basketball, football, etc.
Where is the furthest you’ve traveled?
Nairobi, Kenya on a mission trip in 2019 with a group of fellow students from ACU.
What would you invent if you could?
Gas pods. You could keep them in your car, and when you run low on gas just pop one into the tank. You’d never need to stop at a gas station!
If you were the CEO of a company name one thing you would make mandatory in the office and one thing you would ban.
Mandatory – consistent tee times on Fridays at 3:00 PM. Ban – bad attitudes.
What are three interesting things about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
My name is Skyler because my mom went skydiving when she was pregnant with me before she knew. A simple quesadilla with avocado is my favorite snack. I used to have a pet tarantula.
What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?
He’s a good dad. He’s stricter than my mom (doesn’t feed me from the table!), but he’s so much fun to be around because he takes me to play all the time. He takes me on lots of walks and gives me lots of belly rubs.
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Mint chocolate chip or Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie.
What character would you be in a book, movie, or TV show?
Spiderman.
What superpower would you like to have?
Without a doubt, being able to fly.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you?
My fiancé, my dog, and a magic genie lamp to wish for whatever else I needed.
If you could steal credit for any great piece of art, song, film, or book, which one would you claim?
The movie, Good Will Hunting.
Last meal?
Bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. An 8 oz. Wagyu steak cooked medium rare with a side of Velveeta mac & cheese and asparagus. And for dessert, a whole sleeve of frozen Thin Mints.
Welcome to HLC Skyler, we are glad you are here!
