Meet Jon Skidmore, Market Analyst and new HLC Team member!
Jon Skidmore joined the Holt Lunsford Commercial team in 2022 and serves as a Market Analyst in the Dallas Industrial Division. He is responsible for assisting in project leasing assignments and marketing and business development efforts of the Industrial team and other HLC clients. Jon is a Texas Real Estate Commercial license holder working on his MBA in Finance at DBU.
Jon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended Highland Park High School. He went on to play baseball at Dallas Baptist University and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Business Finance. After graduating, Jon worked at DBU with the president and donors raising money for the university. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and his wife Ellie, and playing golf.
What brought you to HLC?
I got to know the Lunsford family during my time at DBU and admired how they give back to their community and love the Lord. I was familiar with the culture Holt had created at HLC and wanted to be a part of it.
How do you hope to grow at HLC?
I want to grow professionally, in my walk with the Lord, and as a husband. The culture at HLC provides me with opportunities to grow in all aspects of my personal and professional life, making this opportunity so attractive.
What about your role at HLC most excites or interests you?
I am most excited to work with a very knowledgeable team about the market. I have a real opportunity to learn and grow in my knowledge of this industry at HLC.
Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
We serve. Christ calls us to be His hands and feet, and it is my job to serve others as Christ served us.
What three words would you use to describe the HLC culture?
Honesty, team-oriented, committed
How do you define success?
I believe God calls us to work hard and diligently for His glory; however, I define success as spreading Jesus Christ’s love and how many individuals I can serve. Success on earth is fleeting, and true success is living a life pleasing to the Lord.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I like to spend my free time playing golf, spending time with my family and friends, and hanging out with my wife and puppy.
What can you teach me to do in five minutes?
Flip back and forth between college football games on TV without missing a snap.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you?
Chips & queso, sour skittles, and my wife
