What brought you to HLC?
I have been fortunate to have grown up around HLC as my father, Doug Lueders, has worked with Holt for over 21 years. I guess you could say the recruitment started years ago…but I never considered it until this past year when Hutton Lunsford and I discussed an opportunity to join the rapidly growing HLCI Development team.
How do you hope to grow at HLC?
I look to become a valued member of the team and am excited to learn from the many others in this organization. I am excited to help HLCI grow into new markets. Central Texas is becoming a larger part of the growth of Texas and I’m excited to expand our presence into these markets.
Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
“We Put Others First – Golden Rule” because it is important to remember this is a people business. As businesses make decisions, it is important to never forget about the Golden Rule. Reputation and how you treat people make a lasting impact on others. It is a great reminder about what is most important.
What three words would you use to describe the HLC culture?
Unique, Honest, Hardworking.
If you could tell one person “thank you” for helping me become the person you are today, who would it be and why?
It would have to be my father. He has helped guide me throughout my life and career. He taught me what hard work looks like and modeled it day in and day out throughout his career.
How do you define success?
Not the accomplishments collected but the relationships developed, and impacts made along the way.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Spending time with my two young daughters and wife. We have gone from 0 to 2 kids in a very short time and everyday spent with them is a gift.
Where is the furthest you’ve traveled?
Well, the longest travel day I will never want to re-live would be from Thailand to DFW with connections in Tokyo and San Francisco (24 hours+ after missing the connection in the U.S.).
What would you invent if you could?
An automatic diaper changer! When you have two under two your free time gets spent changing diapers.
Favorite quote?
“To care about each person with whom you come in contact, to be a friend to children, to make a person’s life better where you have the power to do so, to forgive easily, to make a choice each day to be positive, and to allow God to work through you.” – Tony Dungy
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Vanilla, simple but always #1.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you?
Cell phone, a chef, and sunscreen.
Last meal?
“Velvet Taco”, It’s funny story you will have to ask my wife about…
Welcome to HLC, Jon, we are glad you are here!
