What brought you to HLC?
Ultimately, the Lord. I didn’t know what I wanted to do… I was a sales major at Texas A&M (WHOOP!) and didn’t want to sell something random that I wasn’t passionate about selling. I had a few older men in my life that I look up to suggest commercial real estate. It piqued my interest and so I took steps to look for a job in the industry. I prayed that if the Lord wanted me in this industry that He provided a path for me. I ended up interviewing with Holt and immediately felt a connection to the values and culture. I am so thankful that I get to work with a brokerage like this one!

How do you hope to grow at HLC?
I want to grow professionally but also spiritually. Having the opportunity to work with a company that has Biblical values is rare in this world. Being able to grow that way in my work is truly a blessing!

What about your role at HLC most excites or interests you?
I am excited about attaining my professional goals, of course… but the thing that I am so excited about is getting to build long lasting, and meaningful relationships with my clients. I have always been a “people person” so getting to interact with people all day, learn about their company and how I can add value to their company is the best thing I can ask for. I want to also grow in my understanding of the intricacies of the real estate industry, it is truly fascinating. There are infinite ways to help others make wise real estate decisions.

Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
We Love People, but also, We Serve. I think these go hand in hand. In a world where we get to work with other people who run their own company, we really do seek to love them well and serve their needs. We love by the way we serve our clients. If we truly go above and beyond to serve our clients and not treat them as a number, then we love them well. That’s one of the many reasons our clients use us, we’re personable. At other brokerages they might be treated as a number because of the type of culture the brokerage has.

What three words would you use to describe the HLC culture?
Encouraging, inquisitive, and educational.

If you could tell one person “thank you” for helping me become the person you are today, who would it be and why?
Honestly, it would be my parents. They both have poured so much into me. My mom homeschooled me and taught me the basics of life and helped me achieve my dreams. My dad is my professional mentor, he has been in the business world for years and turning to him is one of the greatest blessings I could have!

Who or what inspires you?
The idea that each day I get the chance to impact someone’s life, positively.

What are three interesting things about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
I am seriously a nerd about nature, I have an insect collection that I made when I was a kid; I am one of the most avid fishermen I have ever known, second to my dad; and I am a mean grill master.

How do you define success?
Making an impact for the Kingdom with everything I do.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Hunting, fishing, hanging out with my family, and the occasional Xbox game.

If you were the CEO of a company name one thing you would make mandatory in the office and one thing you would ban.
I would make a good fishing pond in the back mandatory. I would ban ties (sorry Holt).

Everyone has a good app idea. What’s yours?
I would make an app that uses an algorithm to pick your next meal, then provide the recipe.

Where is the furthest you’ve traveled?
I have traveled to Israel.

Favorite quote?
Aim small, miss small.

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Blue Bell mint chocolate chip.

What character would you be in a book, movie, or TV show?
Legolas from Lord of the Rings.

What superpower would you like to have?
I would love to be able to fly.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you?
Knife, paracord, flint and steel.

What’s your secret talent no one at work knows about?
I can name a bird by its song.

What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?
For All Mankind. It was a suggested Sci-Fi and I love it. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes space shows.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
Bald Eagle, you’re federally protected, fly, and you’re an apex predator in your food chain.

If you could steal credit for any great piece of art, song, film, or book, which one would you claim?
Any song by Electric Light Orchestra.

Which animal would make the best type of president if the animal kingdom ever rose and took over?
I would say apes, but we all saw how that ended. I’ll go with lion.

If you had to choose, what would your last meal be? No limits.
Chicken Fajitas from Chuy’s with a healthy amount of creamy jalapeno drizzled on top.

Welcome to HLC, Hudson, we are glad you are here!
