Get to Know – Bo Puckett, Market Analyst

Meet Bo Puckett, Dallas Industrial Market Analyst and new HLC team member!

Bo was born in Dallas and grew up in Highland Park. He chose Texas Tech for his college education where he received a BBA in Marketing, May 2019. Being an outdoor enthusiast, one of the things he enjoyed most about going to school in Lubbock was all the great hunting that’s available in that part of Texas. Further exploring his interest in the outdoors while in college, he spent a one summer as a fly-fishing guide in Alaska! Bo gained real estate experience as an intern at CBRE during the summer of 2017.

In his role as a market analyst, Bo assists in multiple project leasing assignments throughout several industrial markets. In addition, he is responsible for maintaining relevant market reports for HLC clients and contributing to marketing and business development efforts.

What brought you to HLC?
I started my job search by speaking with brokers in the commercial real estate industry and they guided me to HLC. I met with Holden, who then connected me with Jim Brice and Canon Shoults for an informal meeting. One thing led to another and here I am!

How do you hope to grow here at HLC?
I want to keep learning from the team, everyone has been so helpful and supportive in my training. I hope to take everything I am learning and grow to be independent and contribute to the team and HLC’s success.

What about your role at HLC most excites or interests you?
The people that I am meeting and developing relationships with from coworkers to tenants.

Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
Definitely growth – I am in a growth phase in my role here and in my career.

What or who inspires you?
My dad. Seeing how he’s grown in his career has been an inspiration. He started out traveling across the country, selling supercomputers. He was recruited by Tramell Crow and started at the bottom – now he is one of the main brokers for the Downtown Office division. Yet in spite of all he has accomplished, he is still humble and down-to-earth. He’s very family-oriented. I attribute my interest in hunting and the outdoors to spending time doing that with my dad.

How do you define success?
I would define success by achieving my goals and while doing so helping those around me achieve theirs.

What would your autobiography be called?
Things I Did and Things I’m Going To Do”

Everyone has a good app idea. What’s yours?
A fly-fishing app that depending on which river, the time of year, etc., tells you what type of fly to fish with.

Favorite quote?
It comes from the movie Gladiator, “What we do in life echoes in eternity.”

What super power would you like to have?
The ability to teleport.

What’s your secret talent that no one at work knows about?
I am training my dog, Shadow, to be a hunting dog. I originally hired an official dog trainer to work with him and was told he was untrainable. So, I’m training him and he’s becoming an excellent hunting dog.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
A wolf. They are intelligent and elusive; they live in a pack and work together for the good of the whole when they hunt.

Last meal?

Welcome to HLC Bo, we are glad you are here!
