Meet Maddy Canty, Dallas Industrial Market Analyst and new addition to the HLC team!
Maddy grew up in San Antonio, Texas in an active family with her parents and twin sisters. When they weren’t in school, she and her sisters spent A LOT of their time playing competitive soccer. During her college days, she attended the University of Alabama where she earned her degree in Marketing with a specialization in Real Estate. Real Estate is a great career choice for her because she likes how things change day-to-day, enjoys meeting new people, and likes working in a competitive, challenging environment that pushes her to achieve.
What brought you to HLC?
I found out about Holt Lunsford Commercial through one of my mentors who connected me with Canon Shoults. It started with a phone interview and now I’m part of the team! The things that really attracted me to HLC were the people, the values system and the positive company culture.
How do you hope to grow here?
I want to learn, learn, LEARN everything I can! I am just absorbing it all and learning is my primary focus right now. Ben Wallace has been a great mentor and influence, he has been able to achieve so much in a short amount of time here at HLC.
Which HLC value resonates the most with you and why?
Learn, obviously! Also, customer service and having fun – I want to stay interested and enjoy what I’m doing each day.
You are a new addition to the crayon box, what color are you and why?
I guess maybe orange, I’m happy while still being a little reserved. I’m a warm, positive person, and I care about others and about how I make them feel.
How do you like to spend your free time?
My sports background is in my blood – I enjoy running and have been running 5 miles a day regularly, my goal is to run a marathon. I also like to hang out with my friends and spend time with my sisters.
What or who inspires you?
My parents. I want to prove myself to them and make them proud. They have been so supportive of me, and I want to show them that because of them, now I can make it on my own.
What could you teach me to do in the next 5 minutes?
Navigate Netflix.
What super power would you like to have?
Flying, over traffic especially!
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you and why?
Duct tape, because you can do anything with it.
Machete, to cut wood and have a weapon if needed.
Friend, because misery loves company!
If you could redesign the food pyramid without any dire health consequences, how would it look?
Pizza and pasta at the top, then, in order, Mexican food, hamburgers, brownie sundaes and sushi!
